The application period for the Summer ELSA Law Schools 2019 is now officially open!
The Summer ELSA Law School Athens on International Investment Law, which is jointly organised by ELSA Athens and Athens PIL under the academic supervision of Dr. Anastasios Gourgourinis (Lecturer in International Law, UoA; Athens PIL; Research Fellow, Academy of Athens), will take place from August 18 to 25, 2019 at the Propylaea of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
International Investment Law is currently one of the most popular fields of international law, given the rapid increase of international investment disputes over the past few years, as well as the theoretical and practical problems arising from possible “overlaps” with other fields of international and EU law.
Addressing a variety of subjects related to international investment arbitration, the SELS Athens on International Investment Law gives its participants the ticket to explore an intriguing field of law, along with their own interests. Our SELS will consist of interactive lectures, which will provide participants with all the essential tools to grasp the main aspects of International Investment law, while also addressing some of the currently “hottest topics” of the field. This year’s academic programme will also feature an interactive skills training workshop under the aegis of Young ICCA, the world-wide arbitration knowledge and skills network for arbitration students, young practitioners and academics established in 2010. Lectures and workshops aside, participants will also have the chance to make the most of their time in Athens; visits to world famous attractions, such as the Acropolis Rock and Museum, sea swimming and tasting greek food and nightlife are only examples of what this Summer School’s social program has to offer.
